A directing graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts, Tenika Smith is a filmmaker who blends beautiful, cinematic images with a strong narrative drive that always connects emotionally.
Her final year film, Thanks for the Ride, took out the school's top undergraduate script prize and was later selected to screen at a number of film festivals, including the Melbourne International Film Festival, Las Vegas Film Festival and Flickerfest. Her following film Alight also had success and lead to partnerships with Australian anti-violence charities to help spread the message to end social violence. Tenika is also an alumni of the Melbourne International Film Festival's 'Accelerator Program' (2013) for promising Australian and New Zealand filmmakers.
Her portfolio of advertising and corporate work includes productions for a number of clients such as Coles, Salesforce.com, Mercedes-Benz and Australians in Film. In 2015 she worked across 17 countries in Europe and Asia, directing a global advertising campaign for Tempur.
